The one where they wanted a baby.

Ross and rachel are now 3 years married. They still lived in the appartment of ross for they did not want to leave the city center given that both of them are still working fulltime. Emma is now 4 years old. They leave her with the daycare while both of them are working during the day. Ross is still working as a professor while Rachel is a Manager for Ladies wear for Ralph Lauren.

it's a sunday morning, rachel starts to wake up as the yellow rays of sunshine started to peek from the blinds of their bedroom. she faces ross and sees that he is still sleeping. Emma was in between them as they sleep. rachel slowly faces them both and seeing how emma hugged ross made her smile. it made her laugh more when she saw that emma was holding the orange dinosour stuff toy she had ever since she was born. eventualy, ross woke up and gave rachel such a loving smile.

Rachel: morning you...

Ross: good morning. what are you staring at?

Rachel: oh nothing.

Ross: really.....

Ross tried to lean over to her side to kiss her but with emma in between them made it difficult. so rachel was the one who leaned and gave him a kiss.

Rachel: we really should have to start training her to sleep on her own bed.

Ross: you think so?

Rachel: you dont want to spoil her dont you?

Ross: well i spoiled you...

Rachel: i was always spoiled!

ross: oh yeah.. how could i forget.

rachel: what?!

ross: shhh.. she's still sleeping... why do you want her not to sleep beside us?

rachel: oh i dont know... i just miss the way i hug you that way.

ross: you miss me?

rachel: oh yes i do.. dont you miss me?

ross: of course..(started to reach to hug her) and how can we have another child this way?

rachel: what?!(this time louder)

this time emma started to wake up. started to streach out and openned her eyes.

emma: morning mommy... morning daddy..

rachel: good morning sweetie.. did you sleep well?

emma: uh..huh.(giving a small yawn...)

ross: she has to be. she was hugging daddy all night long.

emma: why daddy? did you sleep well too?

ross: uh-huh but i think you're getting really big for you to sleep in between me and mommy.

rachel: so that's why you have to start sleeping on your bed now.

emma: but... i want to stay here. i wanna be beside daddy everyday!

rachel: why is my baby such a daddy's girl....

ross: oohh look who's talking...

rachel: oh shut up, geller.

ross: hay! you're a geller too!

emma: yah and me too!:D

rachel got up to finally start the day. she was cooking up some light breakfast since they were headed to monica and chandler. The gang decided before that they ought to meet up during first sundays of the month to at least be able to catch up with everyone by hanging out. Though they still communicate regularly or do meet up for coffee but not as regular as how they did during their days at central perk.

they all rode the car to go to the bings. ross and rachel were up front while emma was on a car seat at the back. ross seeing emma asleep at the back held rachel's hand to a clasp.

ross: honey..

rachel: uh-huh.. sleepy too?

ross: oh no.. i wanna ask you something about this morning..

rachel :(as if clueless) were my pancakes still that bad?

ross: no.. no.. the one of having another child.

rachel: oh.. what about it.

ross: i do want to have another child.

rachel kept quiet. She knew that ross would really make a converstaion about it.

ross: umm.. so are you not going to.. talk now?

rachel: are you sure we're ready?

ross: were we ready when we had emma?

rachel kept quiet again.

ross seemed to notice that rachel wasn't really taking it well and decided to break the silence.

ross: hey. sorry if i brought it up. i just needed to tell you that i do want to have another kid with you. i mean, we are married for almost 2 years now and i do think we have settled in as a married couple and i just feel it's the next big step.

rachel: oh dearie... you don't have to say sorry. i was just shocked about it because..... here's the thing hun, i'm up for a promotion at work as assistant VP for the ladies fashion and it would be difficult to for me to get that promotion if i get pregnant. i have been meaning to tell you about this, but i wanted it to come as a surprise to you if ever i do get promoted.

ross: are you telling me that... oh nevermind.

rachel: what? tell me ross.

ross: i dont know . i just dont want to get in the way of your work again.

rachel then slipped her hand from their clasp. They were then turning to the drive way of the Bings.

ross: so...

rachel did not speak and then just stepped out of the car and openned the back door to get emma. chandler carrying erica was waving at them from the front door. ross then went down of the car , helped rachel with emma who was still asleep and was trying to get an eye contact with rachel. however, rachel kept her head down.

chandeler: honey! the gellers are here!

monica: my folks?

chandler: no. your bro.

monica: hay! wassup bro?

ross kept silent while they entered the house. as chandler and monica moved in the house further rachel place emma on the sofa so she could still continue her nap.

rachel: we'll talk about that later.

ross: yeah... 3 days later...

rachel: are you putting up a fight here? coz you know me geller i can.

ross: ok fine. we'll talk about it later.

rachel walked out and head to she kitchen just trying to forget what has happened between them. before entering the swing door she turned around and looked at ross. Ross was carrying emma who was starting to wake up. Rachel just felt that she couldnt break her husband's heart. She knew how much he loved children. she then entered the kitchen faking a smile.

monica: hay rach! can you pass me the.... hay, you ok?

rach: uh..huh.

monica: something tells me you're not.

rach: oh just drop it. i'll be fine.. i think

monica: hay if you want to talk about it, it's fine with me too. is there something about ross? did he cheat on you again? i dont think you guys are on a break now that you are married! you want me to talk to him? coz if he can kick chandler's butt i can kick his! i've done it when i was 5!

rach: hay, it's not that bad, i think...

monica: anyway i guess the two of you should just talk about it soon. i dont think ross will let this marriage fail again.

rach: i wouldnt want to fail too just because of this.

there was a honk from the garage as if an annoucement that phoebe and mike has arrived. Ross and chandler came to greet them followed by rachel.

at the living room.
Phoebe: hay you guys!

Chandler: oh, where's mike? got lost somewhere?

Phoebe: no, no, he's following to pick me up later. He got a call from his folks and he had to rush home for something.

Ross: oh, i do hope everything's ok with his family

Phoebe: oh i guess everything's going to be great his mom usually over reacts anyway.

Emma: mommy, me wanna go pee.

Rachel: ok come here you sweetie.

Ross: oh, daddy can bring you, mommy has to help auntie monica with lunch.

Rachel: no, ross, i can, monica can do everything alone in the kitchen anyway.

Ross: no rach...

Chandler: hay, you can bring erica and jack too later if you want. or better yet why not have another one.

Ross and rachel were in dead pan. looking at each other.

emma: uh.. mommy.... daddy... (realizing she just peed on the floor)


Over Lunch

Monica: so what time is mike getting here? coz i can save him some of the chicken.

Phoebe: i'm not really sure. hay ross, rach, do you think i can hitch with you if mike can't follow to pick me up here

Ross and rachel replies simultaneously
Rachel: oh of course pheebs.
Ross: ugh.. actu..

Pheobe: oh thanks!

Ross looks at rachel and gave her the look saying "hay we need to talk remember?"

Chandler: so what are you guys been up to? Monica here is actually talking with the baker to open up a shop soon. While I am still ... Chandler....

Ross: oh we're still the same old ross and rachel if you know what i mean..

rachel: hey what was that suppose to mean?

Chandler: oh i get it.

Phoebe: hay what's with the two of you? you've been so uptight with each other since i got here.

Ross and rachel: oh nothing... (ross held rachel's hand from under the table)

Monica: anyway... where were we?

Erica then cries for she needed changing. simultaneously, jack also cries

Chandler: so this is what's always up between me and monica.

emma then goes to her daddy wanting to be carried. Ross gets her and puts her on top of his lap. Emma then hugs Ross.

Ross: what's wrong sweetie? you still sleepy?

Rachel checks her back if she was perspiring.

Rachel: oh my god honey, you're so hot!

Ross: awww.. Rachel... but not in front of emma!

Rachel: not you! .. emma are you feeling good?

Ross checks her forehead.

Ross: oh my god She is hot!

Phoebe: oh my god she really is!

Rachel: mon? do you have any aspirin for kids here?

Monica: why? what's the matter?

Rachel: emma got some high temperature. can i borrow some towels to give her a sponge bath.

Phoebe and Chandler were on the living room while monica attended to ross and rachel as they take care of emma's illness.

Phoebe:so how's joey? i havent heard from him since the last month we were here?

Chandler: oh that guy's doing great. we're scheduled to call him this afternoon right?

Phoebe: that's what i know. i miss that guy! i mean he was like one hell of a guy i know!

Chandler: yah, i miss our days are room mates too thsoe day when we were just hangin out...and we had to .. oh i'll stop here.

Phoebe: yah you should. you're scaring me!

phoebe's mobile rang. whiel chandler tried to check the twins for they were laid to sleep. erica's feed was still on her yet jack was fast asleep. they were at the play pen.

Phoebe: sure honey, i think we'r staying a bit long coz emma got sick! .. yah yah but if you can't get out of it, ross and rachel can bring me home.ok thanks.. love you!

Chandler: aren't they the sweetest angels?

Phoebe: oh sure they are. they're the cutest twins i've ever seen. well of course the cutest triplets still came from me!

Rachel was on the phone going down the stairs followed by Ross and Monica

Rachel: yes mom, i gave her a sponge bath already. She's down for a nap. i'll check on her temperature in 30 mins. yes mom. don't worry. we'll be ok.

she click the phone and placed it on the coffee table where the gang started to get together.

monica: shouldnt we call joey now? he must be waiting already.

Ross: oh yah. here's his number.
Ross placed his hand on rachel's shoulder to assure her that there are no worries of emma. rachel placed her hands on top of his. and leaned back to him. they shared a moment of stare. It was so weird for her to be feeling the same way she felt that night when they first had that passionate kiss at the coffee house. She knew she wanted to have another child yet she also knew she wanted that promotion.

Chandler: Hello joey?!

Monica: IS that joey now?

Chandler: no it's the kangaroo at the zoo honey.

Phoebe: really?

Ross: Could be...

Chandler placed joey on speaker phone so everyone could listen and talk to him.

Joey: hay you guys! how you doin'?
(he was on a set shooting for a movie on his cellular phone)

Rachel: hay joey! we miss you! when are you going to visit us here?! you're missing all monica's cooking!

Monica: i surely miss someone to finish up all the left overs!

Joey: i'm kinda tied up with work here,. it's just so difficult getting dates now a days. I'm shooting two movies and of course the show. It's just so different here.

Phoebe: Joey with no dates? this must be the kangaroo from the zoo!

Ross: still phoebe, could be!.. but hay Joey, seriously, you're never goign back here ?

Joey: well give me a reason to.

Monica: but you promised us you'll visit soon! The joey room is still waiting for you.

Phoebe: and dont you forget what i told you mr. tribiani! a promise between friends means never having to give a reason!

Joey: of course i know that pheebs it's just that it's hard to get away from all these. my manager got me to these engagements and i really can't say out.

Rachel: Joey, can you promise me one thing?

Joey: ugh...

Rachel: when you get nominated for an oscar, don't forget us. We paid for your early years head shots...

Ross: yah and we fed you.

Monica: and you stuck your head on my turkey for all those thanksgivings

phoebe: you even proposed to me!

Chandler: and we were roomates all those years....

Joey: hay guys, of course i will not forget you all. it's just that i'm tied up with work. now if you really give me a good reason so i could forget the world and be with you guys there i really would go.

Pheobe: what is this? some kind of.. some kind of... some kind of... ok what is it.

Joey: hay don't give me these now, i really want to be there as much as you guys wants me to be there. but i really just can't go anytime soon. (joey looks at a picture of the 6 of them in his wallet as he says this.) anyway i got to go, the director calling for my scene now. i love you guys! send my hugsywugsy to the kids.

All: we love you joey.

Ross then went up where Emma was sleeping. Rachel followed him to check on her temperature. It has gone down since the last time she checked. Ross collected emma while rachel fixed up the baby bag to prepare going home.

back at the living room. Phoebe on the mobile phone. Chandler and Monica where sitting on the couch with the twins watching seasame's street.

Phoebe: oh ok . i think i'll just take the offer of the gellers to bring me back to the city area. i can meet you at central perk and have dinner somewhere. ok.i'll see you! love you!

Ross carrying emma was going down the stairs followed by rachel.
Ross: i guess we better go now.

Monica: oh, how's emma?

Rachel: she's better. her temperature's not as high as it was this lunch time.

Pheobe: oh, can i still hitch? mike can't follow anymore. His mom needed more help at home.

Ross: oh no problem.

Chandler: ok guys, i guess we can just all meet up next month again.

Monica: we have to do this more often.

Rachel: yah, i know. i miss those days when we just hang out and know where we all were. it just sad sometimes looking out the window and not seeing you guys there. it's just so different.

Ross: yah... anyway we really better go (emma starts to tantrum) our little princess is getting restless. (rachel gets emma)

Rachel: ok, say goodbye to auntie monica and uncle chandler

emma just cried... followed by the cry of the twins too.

Chandler: yah, i guess you better go.

Phoebe: ok bye everyone!

Monica: bye!

Ross and rachel dropped phoebe at central perk and immediately went to theri appartment to tuck in emma and give her medications. Ross stayed with emma till she has fallen asleep in her bed and followed rachel to their bed room who was just out from the shower. Ross then took a shower. Rachel was checking on emma's temperature and did her rounds of calls to her mom and mrs. geller saying that emma's condition was better.

rachel went back to the bed room and saw ross reading a book. She went beside him.

Rachel: umm hunny, i think we do have something to talk about.

Ross closed the book for he knew what this was going to be about.

Rachel: i honestly do want to have another child. i really do. But i also am looking forward to that promotion.

Ross: So what else do we still ahve to discuss about if you already know what you want?

Rachel: because i know how you love children and i know how you feel of wanting to have another one.

Ross: look hunny, if you think that this promotion will do good for you and for us, then go for it. As i told you i dont want to be on the way of your career again. I do not want to list all the mistakes i did for going between ur career. i do want to have another child but i want both of us to want it. It might be just a disaster again and break us up again if i try to go there.

Rachel: hunny, you knwo what, if you never went in between me and my career, i wouldn't have gotten of the plane.

Ross took a moment. then hugged her.

Ross broke the hug and said.

Ross: do you remember when i was back packing in Europe....

They moved into a passionate long kiss and eventually turned down the lights.
